BEATS Program 2026 - Supporting Emerging Regional Artists in NSW

Regional talent is thriving, and programs like BEATS are helping it grow.

The BEATS Program is a youth-led music development initiative designed to support emerging artists across regional NSW. By combining collaboration, mentorship and real-world performance experience, the program creates opportunities for young musicians to build confidence, develop their skills and share their music with the community.

What is the BEATS Program?

The BEATS Program brings together young musicians from across the region to form bands, write original music and prepare for live performance. Through an intensive creative process, participants collaborate with other artists, develop their own songs and refine their sound through rehearsals.

Along the way, they work closely with experienced industry mentors who guide them through both the creative and practical sides of music. This hands-on approach gives participants real-world experience while encouraging creativity in a supportive environment.

Why the BEATS Program Matters

For many young musicians in regional areas, opportunities to develop their craft can be limited. The BEATS Program helps bridge that gap by providing access to mentorship, creative collaboration and performance opportunities.

It supports not only the development of musical skills, but also confidence, connection and a sense of belonging within the regional music community. By investing in young talent, the program contributes to a stronger and more sustainable local music scene.

Mentorship and Industry Support

A key part of the BEATS Program is its strong focus on mentorship. Participants are supported by experienced musicians and industry professionals who share their knowledge and guide them throughout the program.

This support helps young artists refine their sound, better understand the music industry and build confidence in their own creative identity. It also provides valuable insight into what it takes to move forward in music beyond the program.

From Program to Stage – Vibe Check

The BEATS Program culminates in Vibe Check, a live music showcase held on 28 March 2026.

This event brings all the hard work together, giving participants the opportunity to perform their original music on a fully produced stage in front of a live audience. With a mix of genres including folk, rock, country and pop, the night highlights the diversity and creativity of regional artists.

Vibe Check is both a celebration of what participants have achieved and a platform for them to share their music with the wider community.

Supporting Regional Talent

Community support plays a vital role in the success of programs like BEATS. When audiences attend events like Vibe Check, they are not only enjoying live music but also helping create opportunities for young artists to continue developing their craft.

Supporting local initiatives strengthens the regional arts scene, encourages future creativity and helps ensure that emerging talent has the chance to grow and be recognised.

Building the Future of Regional Music

The BEATS Program is helping shape the future of regional music by creating pathways for young artists to develop, perform and connect.

Through collaboration, mentorship and community support, these musicians are building confidence and gaining the experience they need to take the next step in their journey. As the program continues to grow, so too does the strength and visibility of regional talent.
